Management Information Systems Professor

Ken Griggs

Dr. Griggs is a Professor of Information Systems in the Management Area. He teaches a wide range of courses in the areas of Systems Analysis and Design, Electronic Commerce, Web Development, Multimedia Systems, and Strategic Management.

His areas of research interest include e-Government, knowledge management, human interface design, Accounting Information Systems, ERP Systems, emerging technologies, and forecasting. His work has appeared in a wide variety of journals including the Communications of the ACM, the International Journal of Forecasting, the Journal of Electronic Government, the Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and many others. He has presented his research at a broad variety of national and international academic conferences.

Dr. Griggs has consulted in the areas of business process re-engineering, knowledge management, and knowledge-based system design and development. He has worked on a variety of defense and government related projects with DARPA, the U.S. Navy, and CINCPACFLT (Pearl Harbor) and many others. He has held academic appointments including the University of Hawaii, the University of Arizona, McGill University, and Concordia University.

In addition, Dr. Griggs was awarded the Distinguished Regional Business School Professor Award from Microsoft Corporation, a teaching award from the University of Hawaii, The Eugene O’Connar Faculty Endowment Award, and development grants from Boeing Corp and the Bank of America.
